Bachpan ki Baatein is a compilation of short stories in Hindi published by Eklavya Publications.

Accompanied by illustrations, this book is meant for ages 8+ and shares childhood anecdotes and memories of well known icons such as Salim Ali, Om Puri and Bachendri Pal.

During my time at Eklavya as graphic designer, I was given the opportunity to illustrate this book.

As part of the process, I read the text to find impactful imagery within it as well as visual cues of time and place that would help me put together the illustrations.

The childhood stories mentioned range from being funny, silly and bizarre to sincere and sensitive - a range that was a joy to cover while ideating and illustrating.
